Our Story
Welcome to VOB Development, a premier real estate firm located in Atlanta, GA. Since our inception in 2003 by the visionary Verlyn Foley, we have emerged as a front-runner in the industry. Foley's real estate journey began in Trinidad and Tobago, inspired by her mother's management of a residential rental business. After graduating from York University in Toronto, Foley moved to New Orleans, Louisiana, where she deepened her real estate acumen.
Upon obtaining her Real Estate License, Foley joined Latter and Blum, focusing on identifying and capitalizing on real estate investment opportunities. Her flair for transforming properties was evident in her successful renovation of 60 single-family units in New Orleans. This venture into property flipping laid the groundwork for her foray into apartment rentals, beginning with two complexes in Jackson, MS.
VOB Development, under Foley's leadership, made a groundbreaking achievement in Jackson, MS by receiving two Low Income Housing Tax Credits (LIHTC), marking Verlyn Foley as the first African American woman to build a LIHTC affordable apartment complex in the city. This accomplishment was just the beginning.
Since then, VOB Development has been instrumental in constructing and advising on a myriad of apartment complexes and single-family subdivisions across multiple states, including Mississippi, Louisiana, Tennessee, Florida, Alabama, North Carolina, Georgia, and Connecticut. The total construction cost of these projects is approximately $500 million.
